Social Media is a funny thing. From Tom @ Myspace to Evan @ Twitter…social media has come a long way. I remember when myspace was cool. It started off with teenage girls, then moved to bands and eventually the hoochies got a hold of it…and it became suck.
Then facebook. I remember facebook. You know, that social networking site for college students. I used to have facebook. Then my grandma and her friends got it. And I left.
I jumped straight over to twitter. About a year and a half ago, when it was still “some dumb micro blogging thing.” Then CNN, Oprah…and you guessed it a few to many geriatrics jumped on board. Well, I still haven’t abandoned ship, but am definitely on the ‘prowl‘ for what’s next. Could it be THIS…maybe THIS….or even THIS?
As earthquakes, volcano’s, floods and disease seems like a weekly occurrence…I am drawn to the verses from Romans 8:
19For the creation waits with eager longing forthe revealing of the sons of God. 20For the creationwas subjected to futility, not willingly, butbecause of him who subjected it, in hope 21thatthe creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22For we know thatthe whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. 23And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who havethe first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. 24For in this hope we were saved. Nowhope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? 25But if we hope for what we do not see, wewait for it with patience.
Reminds me of a song that I used to sing when I was very little, and I’m sure that I will sing it with Stella…
I have always loved Conan O’Brien. I believe he is one of the only “Late Night Guys” that isn’t crass and perverted. “Don’t Be Cynical”…something we could all apply to some degree!
So Conan…I’ll see you in September on FOX. In the meantime, enjoy the $32M NBC gave you as hush money
