For the past 5 years, April has been tough. The Leafs pull out the golf clubs early…once again.

Maybe next year will be “our” year?

Being the “Old Man” that I am, I went to bed last night @ 10:30.  I received a text this morning from my brother saying: “Are you up, are you watching right now?”  This could only mean one thing, something crazy happened last night post-me going to bed in the NCAA game.  So, being a Canadian, I go straight to tsn.ca to find out what happened.  Here’s what I saw:
You could imagine my surprise when the only mention of any NCAA event (last night there were 4 games) is a byline that reads “March Madness Roundup: Kansas State captures memorable win.”  ARE YOU KIDDING ME!  I know that the NCAA Tourney is a bigger deal in the U.S, but (what I found out later) it was a double-overtime photo finish…and….nothing. You could imagine my confusion when trying to figure out what my brother was referring too.  I decided to shoot over to espn.com just to see:

Full front page coverage and video of the game, and 2 of the 4 sub stories about other NCAA games.  For some reason, TSN believed that Montreal (6th place) beating Florida (12th place) in an NHL game last night somehow deserved the top line.  From this I can draw one of three conclusions.

1) TSN hires only hacks, that know nothing about sports
2) A 6th place team beating a 12th place team in hockey is multiples more exciting than a double overtime, winner moves on college basketball game
3) Canada is just really…that bad.

I think it’s a tie between 1 & 3.  On another note, American’s now are on a path to socialized medicine and probably socialism itself.  Maybe having crappy sports coverage is a socialism symptom.  That probably wasn’t in the Pro’s and Con’s that Obama listed when pitching the bill…

I’ve read comments from tons of people on blogs, twitter, TMZ (yes, I’m a closet fan)…and I think I have had about enough “Jon and Kate Plus 8″ for a lifetime…

“He Cheated”
“She Cheated”
“They Cheated”

Who cares…

The kids are a modern-day sideshow and the parents are milking them for all its worth. And to add insult to injury…if Monday Night (+ a Tuesday night encore) wasn’t enough J&K+8 for you…tonight they are on Orange County Choppers!

Let’s get these people some help and stop dragging them through the mud in the name of Reality T.V…

Seriously.

P.S. What the heck is with Kate’s hair…I mean, I’m not the fashion police, but I’m pretty sure he “do” was never cool…

That said, I am pretty good at not “showing” my need for sleep.  Sometimes I might be a little edgy, but usually I don’t show physical signs of being tired.

The last few days people (usually men…usually older that have older children) have been coming up to me saying, “WOW…you look like a wreck.” OR “Dude, I guess you are not sleeping much..?”

All that to say…yes, I am tired.  Let me say it again…I AM TIRED…

BUT

Coming up to me and commenting that I basically look like “death itself” does not help the matter.  I can’t wait for the day when I’m old and need a self-esteem boost and can go up to some punk-kid new father and trash his looks…oh it’s going down!

In addition to the usual crap that was on, TLC has this new show that basically spotlights people with disabilities. Not a bad thing. I believe that we need to do a better job at adjusting the workplace and public spaces to accommodate such people. Here’s the problem.

TLC has turned into the “Circus Sideshows” of the olden days. Spotlighting these people not because of their disability, but because it is CRAZY to see someone with such an uncommon problem.

Last nights episode was called, “The Woman With Giant Legs.”

It’s hard not to laugh when I read that title. Honestly. How is that helping this woman cope with life’s difficulties? Instead of paying $2 to see her under a tent in the middle of the field, we pay $19.99 to access that channel to look at her from the comforts of our own home.

Not that anyone from TLC would ever read my blog, but seriously people…stop selling this crap as “educational” and call it for what it is…entertainment.

Today my nose blead…twice.

I don’t know if it is the dry weather, but my dress shirt and my friend’s office carpet are both victims of this new fad that is “my bleeding nose.”

This isn’t the most exciting thing I’ve ever blogged, but nonetheless, needed to be posted.

P.S The NCAA Men’s Bball tourney starts tomorrow. Let’s the MADNESS begin!

One of the nicest girls in the world used to manage my site admin for me. I am a slob and need to take it back (because it’s to much for me to ask…even the nicest of people to do).

So I pre-paid my hosting, only for the site to get shut down today. After calling them, the rude canaca lady says “oh, I guess they just haven’t processed it yet, you should have done it sooner.”

The “warning email” stated that I had until yesterday to renew…I paid 2 days ago…you do the math.

SO.

Thanks Canaca, for sucking. And for making my site fall down and not helping it back up. You kicked mud in its face and it is mad at you….really mad.
