Mother’s Day

I have loved my mom for as long as I can remember. She’s a great example of what it means to put others first and to (no matter the cost) push for excellence in everything…every time. Mother’s are one of the best inventions ever. Think about it. As least for me, my mom has loved me, cared for me, fed me, cleaned up after me and most of all, made sure my dad didn’t pull crap like this:

Mother’s Day is great. BUT today was the first mother’s day that I not only could celebrate my Mom, but also by honouring my baby’s mamma. My wife has 2 excellent role models her my mother and my mother-in-law and I thank God for giving me such a great wife who is a fantastic mother.

So to all you mother’s out there. And if you have a mom (which you probably do) shame on you for reading my blog on her special day.

The Madness Begins!

It’s March. That means…tax time…AND NCAA March Madness.

This week Thursday and Friday is typically a great day to “call in sick” and watch basketball all day.

Every year I’m in a family and friends pool. I always ~~win~~ lose, so maybe this year will be different!

Sushi Night

Tonight my brother-in-law Jordan and his girlfriend came over. We made homemade sushi. I’m definitely a FAKE sushi-lover. I like California Roll and stuff that FOR SURE isn’t really sushi…I haven’t made anything ridiculous like “hamburger sushi” but I walk the line with teriyaki chicken sushi…

Anyway, it’s cool to step-outside of the casserole box and eat something cool @ home.

Here’s hoping I don’t wake up in the night with food poisoning…

No Diet Coke?

So I was out for lunch yesterday and asked for a Diet Coke. The waitress had no clue what I meant. I assumed it was a lanugage barrier thing…so I (like an idiot) phonetically pronounced…slowly…DIIIIEETTT COKKKEEE.

Still nothing.

Then one of the guys I’m travelling with says…”Oh, he means Coke light.”

3 minutes later…Coke Lite appeared.

Same great taste…Same zero calories…Different name.

I like it.

I’m Tired!

Seriously! Between the days getting killer short and the craziness of December…my body is sending my smoke signals and I keep writing it IOU’s for when I can get some more sleep.

I always bug Hailey for wanting to go to bed @ 9pm. It feels weird. It feels like we’re old people. Plus, when I look on my twitter when I get up in the morning, I see all these people tweeting until like 2am. I was 5 hours into my sleep by then. Worst part…they were up @ 6:30 before me too. How can people live on that amount of sleep? I’m a 7-8 hour minimum guy. And even than…10 is my hot zone.

I might get a tanning bed so I can sleep and get sunlight all at the same time. Would definitely either be brilliant or ridiculously stupid. Then again, I may end up looking like this ====>>

Maybe I’ll pass on the fake ‘n bake for now….
