Weekend Review

weekend-review-header4GREAT day @ Harvest York Region this past Sunday.

A friend of mine Jake McKee came with me to play electric. I knew that we had a great set going in, and the people responded during the time of worship. It is always such a great moment when a truth-filled son is sung by people that WANT to be there! Here’s how it all went down…

I Like Coffee…But I LOVE God!

coffeeSo here’s the deal. I like coffee…a lot. Now that we’re in “tax-time” and I’m spinning the business wheels between 60-70 hours per week (until the end of April), I pretty much run on the stuff. I try to not have more than 4 cups before 10am…but it’s tough.

So why do I say all of this. Well, it got me thinking. I wish that I would treat my Bible like coffee…needing to have a certain amount each day just to function. I don’t drink coffee because I have to, or because everyone else is doing it…most times I’m the only one that even knows I’m having a cup (well…me and the slightly elitist chick @ the St. Arbucks drive-thru…) But seriously now, I want God’s Word to be the FUEL for my day, the breath in my lungs and the desire of my heart. If getting with God each day doesn’t dominate my priorities…I don’t have priorities…just a string of worthless events that will burn when Jesus comes home (which according to this guy who referenced this article might be soon!)

So in summary. Coffee is great. In the times I need to stay awake, or just hang out…I really like my coffee.

BUT

God and His Word are WAAAAYY better. Lord let my need for you surpass my need for any earthly thing…because even in a venti vanilla americano doesn’t come close to the changing, life-saving, enduring power of my Savior Jesus Christ.

New Company Website

picture-32This weekend we launched our new website for our business. For those of you that don’t know…I work @ my dad’s accounting and wealth management business. I worked long and hard with our design-guy Tyler on getting the right pieces together, and I am pretty happy with the way it turned out. Clean and Professional…it’s what we needed.

This Made Me Smile

I saw this video of a PK at Jon Morris’ church. I haven’t laughed this hard in awhile. This kid makes me smile. Why? Because he is totally rocking out, and doesn’t give a rip about anything but having fun.

The dance move at 0.07 is my personal favorite!

This video brightened my day, and gave me a smile that I needed this morning!

3D Ultrasound

Today Hailey and I went to get a 3D Ultrasound. It was really cool to see our little girl’s face in more detail AND more developed as the last ultrasound was over a month ago.

Hailey and I are really excited for this kid to come into the world, and are praying that God would continue to hold this young life in His hands. Here are some of the pictures! (click to enlarge)

I'm Bleeding!

preview_600_404I have never had an un-provoked bloody nose. I have had a few that were sports related, but never a random “oh crap, my nose is bleeding” moments.

Today my nose blead…twice.

I don’t know if it is the dry weather, but my dress shirt and my friend’s office carpet are both victims of this new fad that is “my bleeding nose.”

This isn’t the most exciting thing I’ve ever blogged, but nonetheless, needed to be posted.

P.S The NCAA Men’s Bball tourney starts tomorrow. Let’s the MADNESS begin!

Weekend Review

weekend-review-header3I went to Harvest Oakville this Sunday. It was GREAT to be home, and see all our friends. It’s funny how situations play out. I literally got asked, “where have you been for the past 17 months.” Now that’s community…haha. Read more HERE for what that’s all about…

No, but seriously. It was great to be back, and with our family and friends. Hailey and I are both SO stoked to be back at Harvest Oakville for good. They’re going through a building campaign right now…check out that info HERE.

Anyway. Dan Anderson from Harvest London lead in Markham. Until the “new guy” (more to come on that in a later post) comes, I’m still handling the admin for Harvest York. So here’s what their service looked like this weekend.

Nicknames

daddyThe other day I was joking with a friend about how nicknames are silly. I remember growing up I always wanted to be “that guy.” You know, the one that EVERYONE called you by your nickname. Like when you were walking down the hall…someone would yell “Hey Dodger!” and everyone else knew that he was yelling at you…

Unfortunately…I was not “that guy.” In an attempt to brand myself, I tried to give myself a nickname, but then people would just make fun of me. No Dice.

SO. I’ve decided that now that I have a kid on the way…maybe I can instill in them a nickname. EXAMPLE. Instead of “dad” of “father” what if I was called “The Law” or “The Big Cheese” maybe even perhaps “D-Diddy.” I’m pretty sure that Hailey wouldn’t go for it. I’m also pretty sure that part of God’s perfect plan in putting a man with a woman is to prevent stuff like this happening.

I’m not saying that I would do it…but well…no, I would do it. I’m glad Hailey is here to stop my maddness.
