Weekend Review

I just got home from the service. All I can say is…WOW! God showed up HUGE this morning. When I was preparing yesterday, I really felt comfortable with the service order, and just found myself praying that I wouldn’t get in the way of what God could do. Paul was still away on vacation, so Leo Klus was preaching. Right before Leo came up, he had asked me to pray coming out of the last song. I found myself overcome with a sense of God’s presence. I have had the privilege a few times before to feel God at work that much, but today will definitely stand out. Even as people were worshiping, I found when Leo started, the look in their eyes said that they were so engaged with God that they wanted more…It’s hard to explain, but definitely made this morning a GREAT morning. All that said, here’s how the morning went down;

SCRIPTURE
Hebrews 4:15-16
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Romans 5:1-2
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Why Buy A Mattress Anywhere Else?

Tonight Hailey and I went to buy a new mattress. The travesty that we called a bed was just not cutting it any longer (namely due to the 2 divots that remained even after we got out and would be there awaiting our return at night).

We went to Mattress Heaven…Sleep Country. Our sales attendant’s name was Mike. In addition to knowing more than anyone should ever know about mattresses, he talked….a lot. Mike told us all about his views on politics (he is a HUGE conservative, so I told him about this guy’s blog who is a family friend) and also shared with us how he used to live in Ottawa, how his wife died many years ago and pretty much everything else you would not expect to know about your mattress sales guy.

That said, I liked Mike. He didn’t push us into a more expensive mattress, but wanted us to buy the one we wanted. Overall a great mattress buying experience…AND free delivery. Looking forward to a better sleep.

I Love My Wife.

She is the kindest person I know.
She challenges me to love God more.
She encourages me to be a better man and husband.
She is smoking hot.
She is going to be an amazing mother.

BUT.

She doesn’t read my blog. So I can write all this and know that she will never see.

I love you Hailey.

Cottage

Well, it’s probably not going to look like this, but I’m still stoked!

This weekend I am going up to my cottage with my in-laws and on Sunday morning leading worship at Harvest Muskoka. I love Muskoka and I love Kaj Ballantyne (the Sr. Pastor).

So stoked for the weekend and for a good time away with my 2nd parents.

Monday Meals w/ Matt

Monday was the second time Hailey and I did this.

I cook dinner from start to finish….alone.

A scary concept at first, but I think I’m getting the hang of it. I went to the grocery store to pick up my meal ingredients, and I’m not going to lie…I was pretty excited. here’s what I made.Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli in a rose sauce and garlic bread. Seriously…it was amazing! All in all, it was a great night, and I highly recommend (to husbands) take a night once and awhile and cook for your wife. She’ll really appreciate it!

Weekend Review

Overall it was a great service. I found the people were generally on time and prepared to worship. We continued in the 7 Churches series. This week was “the tolerating church.” Paul exhorted us not to be simply tolerant of things around us, but endure an preserve through everything in the strength of Christ.

Below is how it all went down.
